The Great Stuffy Giveaway
When my daughter was asked to give a stuffed animal to a child in need, she discovered that it hurt her heart to think of saying goodbye to one of her stuffies. Was there something different that she could share happily?

Killer Foxtails
If I told you that these plants are deadly, would you believe me? Would it be easier to believe me if I explained why? Rules are like that. If you understand why there is a rule it’s much easier to obey.

Worm Jello
A camping adventure and a ruined bowl of Jello teach us about where guilty feelings come from and how we can get rid of them.

Locked Out
Even though blindfold games are a fun challenge, I’m sure glad I don’t have to go through life with a blindfold on all the time! At church, I sometimes hear people say that we should just trust and obey God. We don't need to understand. To me that sounds like having to wear a blindfold. Does God want us to go through life like we're blindfolded?

God's Great Big Plans
When my daughter, Emily, was seven years old, she found out how God’s plans for her book project were way bigger than her plans!

Dirty Crystals
The gypsum crystals I found formed with dirt on the inside! I can’t wash that dirt away. That reminds me of all of us being born into sin. We’re dirty on the inside, and only God can clean our hearts. His love can change us and make us sparkly inside and out!

Saved from the Dump
A little old lady was trying to shove a great, big “thing” into a dumpster. “Stop!” I yelled. I saved this mysterious object from the dump, and it can remind us about how God is working to save us from being “dumped.”

The Impossible Fish Story
This is a retelling of a story by Eric B. Hare. He was an amazing storyteller and was an inspiration to me. In fact, this is the very first story I ever told to an audience!
“My God lives up in Heaven, He lives on Earth, and He lives in my heart too…”

Two New Pencils
Does a pinecone make a good gift? What about a pencil? No matter what gifts people give us, we can be sure that God always gives us good gifts, because He understands us and loves us completely.

Tall Waves, Short Prayers
This real-life story is from when my husband was a fisherman. A terrible storm becomes a powerful reminder that God hears us in every situation. He listens just as closely to whispered “please help” prayers as He does to long, carefully spoken ones.
