Locked Out

It’s fun to play blindfold games. Have you tried the one where one person tries to give instructions to a blindfolded friend to get them through a maze? If you’re the blindfolded person, even if you trust your friend, it’s still hard to listen and obey them, isn’t it?
Even though blindfold games are a fun challenge, I’m sure glad I don’t have to go through life with a blindfold on all the time!
At church I sometimes hear people say that we should trust and obey God. We don't need to understand. To me that sounds like having to wear a blindfold.
This is a story about me when I was two-and-a-half years old. My family was living in Africa, and one day, we were locked out of our home! We couldn't call a locksmith and the only person that could fit through the window was me!
And while today I understand how door locks work, my little two-year-old brain didn't! This was a time when I had to trust my parents and follow their instructions through the door - without seeing them!
I was recently invited to share this story at a Church in Lethbridge for their Children's Storytime.
It was a pleasure sharing this story with their community.
