After Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt and through the Red Sea, God continued to provide for them by giving them water from a rock and manna for food. But one day, the Amalekites attacked them, so Moses made a plan with Joshua. Joshua would lead the soldiers into battle while Moses stood on a hill holding up the staff of God.

As long as Moses held the staff high, the Israelites fought strongly, but when his arms got tired and he put them down, the Amalekites would start to win. Moses had two helpers with him, his brother Aaron and another man named Hur. They found Moses a rock to sit on and stood on each side of him. Aaron held up one of Moses’ arms and Hur held up the other one. They shared their energy, and by sunset the Israelites had won the fight.

Do you know someone who is tired? Why not try sharing some of your energy?
