Amazing Abigail and Nasty Nabal – Part 2
When Abigail learned that David and his men were coming to attack her household because of Nabal’s insult, she quickly made a plan to stop the disaster. She gathered a generous gift of food, met David on the road, and humbly apologized for her husband’s actions. Abigail reminded David that God would take care of justice and encouraged him not to take revenge into his own hands.
David was grateful for Abigail’s wisdom and kindness and thanked God for sending her to stop him from making a terrible mistake. When Abigail returned home, she later told Nabal what had happened, and the shock paralyzed him. He died ten days later.
After Nabal’s death, David sent for Abigail and asked her to become his wife. She gladly said yes.
