The Pharisees dragged a woman to Jesus who they had caught committing adultery. They asked Jesus if he agreed with Moses’ law that said that she should be killed.

Instead of answering, Jesus bent down and wrote in the dirt.

The Pharisees insisted on an answer, so Jesus said, “Whichever one of you has never sinned, you may throw the first stone at her.” Then he bent down and kept writing in the dirt.

The Bible doesn’t say what Jesus wrote, but perhaps it was the secret sins of the Pharisees. Eventually they all left and Jesus was left alone with the woman.

With no one left to condemn her, Jesus said 12 special words that changed her life.

“I do not condemn you either. Go, but do not sin again.” – John 8:11 (GNT)

Jesus knew what she had done, but He did not demand a punishment. Instead, He instructed her to make better choices and choose the right path for her life.

Guess what? Jesus came to show us what God is like, so if Jesus doesn’t condemn us then neither does God.

Imagine God talking to you in the same way that Jesus talked to that woman.
